Clean air zone charges costing van drivers £780 a year
Peugeot research puts the average annual CAZ and LEZ bill for a UK van driver at £780, or £65 a month, rising to almost £1,200 a year in London and £984 in the Tyneside zone — both of which charge £12.50 a day against £8-£10 elsewhere. FOI data cited alongside it shows 12 of 13 councils operating zones have taken close to £1.5bn between them to 31 March 2026.
