Bifold and glazing manufacturer Made for Trade has announced a major expansion of its UK operations with a new facility in Northampton, named Dimensions House, reported at just over 100,000 sq ft. The site is set to become a key production, distribution and showroom hub for the business, backed by additional investment in Schirmer machinery aimed at improving production quality.
Once fit-out is complete, Made for Trade's Flat Glass and Flatlite production lines will move to the Northampton site, freeing up space at the company's existing North East manufacturing base for further product development and new launches. The company says a significant share of its customer base sits outside the North East, and the Northampton hub is intended to support a more efficient national distribution model: larger trunking runs into the hub, followed by smaller, more frequent local delivery routes out to customers.
The new site will also include a dedicated showroom. Made for Trade says this will be used to onboard new trade accounts and introduce customers to its expanding product range, as well as giving trade partners a professional space to bring their own end users when presenting Korniche bifold and glazing products.
Why this matters for UK trades
For installers and fabricators outside the North East who currently rely on longer delivery routes from Made for Trade's existing base, a Northampton distribution hub should mean shorter lead times and more frequent local drops once it's fully operational. The showroom addition also gives trade customers a dedicated space to walk end clients through Korniche products in person, which can be useful when quoting or closing bifold door and glazing jobs. No confirmed opening date, staffing numbers or full product range for the new site has been published yet.
