Two instances of the uk-tools-blog-daily-content scheduled task ran concurrently on 4 September 2026 (writes interleaved between 14:57 and 15:05). Both worked the same 1-4 September research packs, so several stories now have two drafts under different filenames and dates.
Nothing has been deleted. Two files were unintentionally overwritten (noted below). Please pick one draft per story and bin the other before anything goes near publication.
The dating difference
The two runs applied the naming convention differently:
- Set A dates each piece to the story's original Published date from the research pack (e.g. 31 August for the Professional Builder batch). This matches the convention in the task brief.
- Set B dates several pieces to the pull date (4 September) or the pack date.
Set A is the correct interpretation, but Set B may be better written in places — worth a read either way.

No duplicate — one draft only

Set A deliberately kept it to a roundup mention only, on the grounds that it is brand-commissioned research (nicotine pouch retailer Northerner) and the £8,400 headline could not be independently corroborated. Recommend roundup-only treatment.
Overwritten files
NEWS_2026-09-01_daily-roundup.md and NEWS_2026-09-04_daily-roundup.md already existed from the other run and were overwritten by the later run's versions. The current content is intact and complete; the earlier versions are not recoverable. Flagging for transparency, not because anything is missing.
Suggested fix
If the two runs are still both scheduled, one should be removed — otherwise this collision will repeat daily.
